There is nothing more satisfying than finding a great craft brewery to be immersed in. The perfect setting for date night, weekend with friends or a solo outing, these five breweries should be on your list of must visit pubs in Calgary and the perfect way to spend an evening.
Before we list the 5 mircobreweries , here are some of our recommendations to ensure you have the best experience. Make sure you try the beer sampler, this is the best way to try a variety of beers produced by these breweries and you can get to know what styles you like the best.

Last Best Brewing Co.
Last Best Brewing Co. is a local favourite amongst the Calgary craft beer scene, and it is no wonder why. Their industrial-chic beer hall is inviting, with a space that caters for both families and groups of friends to enjoy. With their own onsite pizzeria, you can’t go wrong with pairing your pint with some of their fresh artisanal breads, pizza or burgers.
Bow River Brewing
Take a sip of award-winning brews with Bow River Brewing and see how they have been connect people from glacier to prairie. With 8 beers on tap and a variety of seasonal brews, Bow River Brewing is ready to welcome you to their family style tap room for a pint and a slice of pizza. Be sure to check out the ‘Windows of the Bow’ mural when you arrive. This is one of my favorite calgary brewpubs.
Cold Garden Beverage Company
Cold Garden Beverage Company is a Calgary-based microbrewery. With a love of craft beer and a passing comment in a university classroom planted the idea years ago and the concept has been growing ever since. The brewery has put down roots in the vibrant community of Inglewood, hoping to breathe new life into what was once the brewing district of Calgary. Eighty-Eight Brewing Company
As calgary brewpubs go this one was inspired by the 1988 Winter Olympics and rocking all the radical 80s vibes that can fit into two floors, Eighty-Eight Brewing Company is a must-visit. Pouring a bodacious line up of beers that includes everything from a Vietnamese coffee stout to a sangria sour, this brewery pushes the limits of creativity.
From Thursday to Sunday bring your appetite and Pizza Mike will bake you a famous Nobel Pie pizza. Make sure you arrive early as the pizza is very popular and normally runs out within 2-3 hours.
Annex Ale Project
If experimentation is your game, make the Annex Ale Project your first stop. This is where unconventional beers come to play, with exciting flavours taking over the Metes & Bounds or the Bitter Division, a new take on the English bitter. With two core beers, a rotating tap of small batches, and natural craft sodas, there is something to quench everyone’s thirst.
