YYC is the best city for foodies. We’re always looking to try something new and different, which just seems like a given these days when it comes to restaurants. Luckily we’ve got some great places on our radar that have opened up recently – here are 4 of them!
King of Donair Has Come To Calgary!
This brand, which has been serving up donairs for over 40 years on the East and West coast respectively, is now ready for Calgarians. Visit their new location at 503 17 Ave SW or enjoy some quality grub from this internationally acclaimed eatery’s signature menu that includes pizzas, garlic fingers as well as epic donairs!
So if you are craving a donair, then King of Donair will have you covered with their really great tasting donairs. This opening is sure to be a hit and its a must try restaurants in Calgary
Lanny Boy’s Ice Cream
When you are in need of a cool break from the heat, look no further than Lanny Boy’s Ice Cream. This family-friendly and pup-friendly pop-up ice creamery is located on Stephen Avenue at The Mill – a historical space within The Pioneer on 8th. With its focus to activate downtown walking through playfulness for both adults and their pets alike, this project will be sure to get your day off right!
Head over to the Mill on Stephen Avenue next Wednesday, May 5 for a super cool pop-up. Lanny Boy’s Ice Cream will be dishing out scoops from noon till 8 pm starting this week and throughout summer! It’s on my must-try restaurants in Calgary this summer.
Halo Churros has opened its doors in Calgary’s Marda Loop
The new sweet spot is located at 3519 14 Street SW in Marda Loop where it offers Halo’s signature churros, ice cream, and espresso drinks.
You might be wondering what is Halo Churros? Well, Halo Churros are fresh and delicious Spanish-style churros served warm. Customers can choose from classic cinnamon sugar or the more adventurous chocolate chili, dark hot chocolate, and pineapple slices.

Korean desserts are a hot trend that is sweeping the world. For those of you who have been waiting for your chance to try this delicious cuisine, we’re here to tell you about Snowcapz Cafe in Calgary! It is on my must-try restaurants Calgary
Snowcapz is named after the frozen peaks of our beautiful Canadian Rockies serving Shaved Ice Cream, Bake goods, and various beverages. Take a look at the menu it’s perfect any time of the day! Try their new plum lemon tea and new croffles they are to die for trust me.
