Grabbed drinks at this down to earth, but trendy and rustic gin bar. Unqiue cocktails, and if you're a gin lover, you'll swoon even more. A MUST visit! The staff were beautiful and attentive. Don't miss out!
Great martinis. It’s a gin-forward bar, but if you’re not a gin drinker don’t let that put you off. The Derrick has an all-round top-shelf selection. I’ve been here a few times now and each time I’ve been very happy to go outside of my usual Tanqueray martini and Woodford Manhattan’s, thanks to Toren and the team of experts, they tailor to your tastes. Big shout out to Miranda for being a stellar host. As long as they are around I’ll keep coming back.
First time trying this place out and a very comprehensive gin list. Tried a mix of different martinis. Pricing could be laid out better as it doesn't match the menus compared to what you're charged and you don't actually know the cost of each martini in total. So that was a bit crap when you think a drink is going to be $17 but is actually $24..... You do get good theater for the drinks and the staff are really nice. Wouldn't say it would be a regular watering hole more of a special occasion.
We had a great time at this restaurant located on 8th Av, the heart of Calgary downtown. The food was good, and the salmon was the best. With a relaxed atmosphere, good food, a variety of drinks, and excellent service, it's worth a visit. For parking, the Core underground parkade is free after 3PM during weekdays and weekends. It is not accessible through the +15 system but very close, which is convenient in winter.
It was a wonderful place for someone who loves gin. Kim was a fantastic server, very kind and surprised me we a lovely creation. The fried pickles were good but yowsah! They were toasty.
