We recently visited your store to purchase Goalie equipment for our teen and our daughters first pair of figure skates. Our Daughter dropped her BunBun (Jelly cat bunny) behind the stool where she was fitted for her skates, we didn't notice until 1.5 hours into our 3 hour drive home... we called the store in a panic. Evan was the store manager this particular evening and his care and empathy was outstanding. He searched for BunBun and assured us that Bunny would be kept safe until we could return. My daughter is 4½ years old and has never slept a night without her BunBun. We had live fish in the vehicle so we had to get home. Upon arrival, my Husband and I realized there was just no way "back up bunny" was going to cut it.. so I called Evan and he tried everything he could to UPS, FedEx or overnight express Bunny to us and there was just no option on a Friday night. As crazy as we are, we hopped back into the car after adding our little fish to our tank and did the 3 hr trek back to the store, to be greeted by a lovely group of young men working. They immediately knew BunBun was ours and we're delighted to reunite bunny with our girl. For a group of young men that likely aren't Fathers yet, I was highly impressed that they knew how important BunBun is. Whoever the owner is, needs to know that Evan and the staff working on Sept 13th, 2024 need to be praised for making sure Bunbun stayed safe. Also, great store and selection. We had a great experience this morning getting my son everything he needs for hockey. I didn’t get the woman’s name that helped us but she was smart and helpful. The receipt says “Al”.
The only reason I’m giving it as high as a 1 Star is because the equipment is not actually all that bad. & there was at least one helpful worker there. For a store that sells mainly used stuff, it’s fairly expensive, though. A few days ago I ordered a red jersey with my name & number on it. Was charged $5 each. Would’ve been another $5 for the logo. A worker asked if I wanted the Knights logo on it, and I said absolutely not, the Golden Knights are my rival team. When I went to pick it up yesterday, they put the Knights logo on it. Did they do that because I said they’re my rival team? Sure seemed like it. Then they claimed I hadn’t even paid for it. Couldn’t they check their records? How disorganized are they? Then they said they could make me another one & to come back later. Fair enough. I came back 2 hours later, and the Manager outright denied that he said he would make me another one. And he also said I requested the Knights logo originally, basically calling me a liar. I remained calm, despite the outright lies, and I called the Owner. Again I was extremely calm, but the Owner was also quite rude. I told him “Why would I request a Knights logo, my rival team, and then as soon as I come to pick it up, not want it? And why is that charge not on the receipt?” & he finally gave in & said “If you can find the receipt, I’ll allow the refund”. He didn’t actually think I had the receipt, though, since they were claiming I hadn’t even paid for the jersey yet! So I went in & showed the Manager the receipt, and how it clearly says I paid for 2 hot pressed (the name & number, not the logo), so he refunded me. But with absolutely no apology. Like, what?! How unprofessional does a business have to be, to make up so many lies, and then when I show them the proof.. crickets… at least apologize, dude. The professional thing to do would have been to apologize right away for putting the logo on it, and offer to do it right the next time. That’s like, super basic to any business. But all to save $30, they pearl clutched. Even with the mistake, I would have paid for it again, despite all the hassle they were causing me, if they had just been professional about it. So I left and got my jersey done elsewhere. And I suggest others to do the same.
Came in today to update my hockey skates. My old ones hurt and I needed to get fitted properly. I had such an awesome experience working with Matt learning exactly what I needed. Now that I’m in EE skates my life is so much better. Highly recommend for trade ins and upgrades on hockey equipment with really knowledgeable staff.
You can occasionally find good sports equipment here at decent prices, but I have been turned off from this store after finding out the kids who work here will buy all the "good" items for themselves when they are donated/sold to the store. Multiple times I've been here and overheard the employees saying "I bought these ones, this one is mine as well..." etc. No wonder their stock is always terrible, particularly for golf equipment.
