For any whisky collector or wine connoisseur, this is somewhere you have to visit at least once. Immaculate selection of wine and various brown (ish) liquors with a friendly and incredibly knowledgeable staff.
I absolutely always stop by here when I’m in Calgary.

Huge shout out to Bernard for putting together an amazing sake display! I’ve always loved Kensington Wine Market, but the one thing that it was always missing was good Sake. Bernard put together an AMAZING display with tons of facts and an amazing selection, only the best! I’ll definitely be coming back for my sake from now on!

Booked a private tasting and coordinated with Harmony to organize. She took on everything, came up with a curated whiskey list and was extremely helpful and outstanding customer service throughout the process, with small personal touches along the way to make it special. Will be booking any future events with them in mind.

Amazing Aussie wine and cheese tasting with Marnie (and Adam from the cheese shop next door). Very well organised, informative and they were very accommodating on the fly with things like adding chairs when someone showed up in a foot cast and providing non alcoholic drink options for my newly pregnant friend. The pairings were amazing and we learned a lot.
Only suggestion is I would have loved the chance to chat more with the other participants. Having an activity or discussion that 'broke the ice' around the room would have been perfect, or even a time where you had to switch chairs for one tasting to meet other people. We still had an amazing time and I'll never forget the 'sumo train' cheese 😆
Excellent evening!

Buyer beware before you consider purchasing a tasing at the Wine Market..
My wife had booked me a tasting unfortunately I missed the date. When I realized I missed it, I called the Wine Market to explain the situation. I asked if there was any way to get some kind of credit (even if it's not for the full amount) to be applied to either another tasting or towards the purchase of spirits. I was told flatly no.
I was disappointed in their unwillingness to do anything.
I understand that missing the tasting was my fault . That said, I was a bit shocked at how dismissive they were when I suggested even a partial credit towards a future purchase.
Unfortunately, they have lost a loyal customer.
To the owner:
It's clear to me by your insulting response that you dont care much about your long-standing customers.
The only one here being disingenuous is you.
At no time did I ask or expect a full refund.
Are you suggesting that you pre-pour alcohol and serve them for people who were not there and then pour them down the drain?
Brilliant business practice if that is how you operate..
Interestingly, you point out your server expenses. Sounds more like a restaurant model than ticketmaster. There are no restaurants that I'm aware of that require full payment upfront when they make a res. Despite your assertion, you're a liquor store, not Ticketmaster.
However, I can see why you like to compare yourself to Ticketmaster because like them you seem to relish in gouging your customer.
I've been to dozens of drink tasings over the years. Generally speaking, they are there to promote a variety of spirits and encourage consumers to buy some from said service provider.
I was simply asking if a portion of my $60 fee could be used towards a future purchase. I dont believe this to be an unreasonable request if you want to retain your customers.
This has been an enlightening experience for me to see just how poorly you value customer service.
